Join us as we COME TOGETHER as a state for our first-ever NC Spirit Week, Beatles style! Engage with us on social media, participate in daily challenges, and join us for a Zoom meeting that best fits you! We hope to meet a lot of new faces and connect with all of our old pals because as the Beatles say, “We get by with a little help from our friends!” We may not be able to come together in person, but we know that there is nothing more powerful than our T1D community and we look forward to a week of education, connection, and FUN!

MONDAY – April 19th – I get by with a little help from my friends….

Today we will focus on the YOUTH of NC living with T1D.

Challenge of the Day:  For all of you that love to draw or design, we are looking for our own unique version of a Beatles Album cover.  Bonus points to those who can hide T1D items into the cover. Submit an entry into the Album Cover Creation Challenge by emailing a picture of your drawn Album cover to Northcarolina@jdrf.org and post it on social media using the hashtags #ComeTogetherNCJDRF #Helpfrommyfriends #NCSPIRITWEEK. The winner of the Album Cover Contest will be announced on our Friday evening zoom meet up -prizes will be provided!

TUESDAY – April 20th – HELP, Anybody HELP!

Today we will focus on all those living with T1D UNDER THE AGE OF 10 and their families!

Challenge of the Day: Get out those crayons and markers! Choose a coloring sheet from the links below. Then COLOR! Make it bright and fun and add your personal flare. Submit an entry into the Beatles themed Coloring contest  by downloading a coloring sheet below, creating a master pieces, then take a picture and email it to Northcarolina@jdrf.org  finally, post your creation on social media using the hashtags #ComeTogetherNCJDRF #HELPanybodyhelp #NCSPIRITWEEK

THURSDAY – April 22nd – Getting Better all the time

Today we will focus on all the ADULTS  living with T1D!

Challenge of the day – Get ready… Get Set… Scavenge!! You will have ONE DAY to find all the items on the list. The Scavenger Hunt list will be released on all social media channels at noon on April 21st.  You have until 7:00pm on April 22nd to collect items and take a selfie with will the items. Email the picture to NorthCarolina@jdrf.org and post your pictures on social media using the hashtag #GettingBetterT1D #NCSpiritWeek.  Winners of this challenge will be announced on our Friday evening zoom meet up – prizes will be provided.

FRIDAY – April 23rd – Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da, Life Goes On….

Today we will focus on our ENTIRE COMMUNITY: everyone that is impacted by T1D will join in on the fun!

Challenge of the Day: Today the challenge is tied to our evening zoom meet up call. Put your trivia knowledge to the test and be crowned the T1D know it all!

Evening Zoom meet Up 7:00pm: Tonight’s zoom will be hosted by the one and only Stacey Simms. Stacey is known for her award-wining podcast, Diabetes Connections, and is a T1D mom herself. She will facilitate a fun trivia challenge for the whole T1D community, the winner will receive a prize and be crowned “T1D Know It All”  We will also celebrate the winners of  the other challenges this week, recognized some amazing volunteers in our state and have a toast, to all of us, for making our community Come Together – because life does go on! Saturday – April 24th — Here Comes the Sun….

Today we ask that you join the Virtual TypeOneNation Summit from 12:00 – 3:00 pm EST for a day of education, hope, and research!
