JDRF NC Youth Ambassador Program – Details and Application

in ,

The JDRF Youth Ambassador Program teaches children and teens to advocate for and raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes in their community. This group is made up of children living with Type 1 diabetes, between Kindergarten and 12th grade.

While promoting awareness of Type 1 diabetes (T1D), our Youth Ambassadors help support the mission of JDRF as we work to fund the research to find better treatments and a cure for T1D. Youth Ambassadors enjoy many personal benefits from their participation, such as learning to work as a team and developing increased confidence in public speaking. Youth Ambassadors develop skills they will use for the rest of their lives while they help educate the public about T1D.

This is an excellent opportunity for interested children and teens to learn public speaking, build friendships, gain leadership and advocacy skills and represent the T1D community as they raise awareness of T1D. Our Youth Ambassadors Speakers Bureau Program provides additional training to overcome common concerns about public speaking and training to effectively communicate the impact of living with T1D.

We hope you will choose to apply, all applications are due by May 20th. All applications will be reviewed the last weeks of May and notification of acceptance will occur on or before June 1st.Ā  Only 50 applications will be accepted from the state of North Carolina.
