Cameron Kenny Aims to Summit Mt. Everest Between May 18th-24th in Support of JDRF

Meet  JDRF supporter, Cameron Kenny!  Cameron is currently in the midst of climbing Mt. Everest while increasing awareness for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and raising money for JDRF to fund research in honor of his brother who lives with T1D.  In Cameron’s words, “While JDRF nor diabetes were my original determination to climb Mt. Everest, climbing for JDRF, will allow me to shed light on the importance of ongoing diabetes research and science while benefitting others. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was created to cure Type 1 diabetes – which is and will continue to be its singular focus until that goal is reached. For the millions of individuals and families affected by Type 1 diabetes, JDRF is the best hope for a cure. I encourage all of you to read more into JDRF and kindly ask that you support me and my climb – by supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.”

Cameron is using his passion for the outdoors and mountains as an opportunity to raise awareness for access to affordable insulin and care for all, as well as the importance of early diagnosis and knowing the warning signs of T1D.  In 2013, Cameron climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and from 2019-2021, he climbed Longs Peak, the Grand Tetons, Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Denali in Alaska. For Cameron, these climbs were stepping stones to summit Mt. Everest.

Cameron hopes to reach the summit between May 18th-24th.  Please join us in sending him well wishes and good luck throughout his journey!  You can also learn more about Cameron and his journey here: https://www2.jdrf.org/goto/CameronKennyEverest.
