Get Your Flu Shot at Walgreens and Support JDRF
From September 1 through October 31, 2013, peak flu shot months, Walgreens will donate $1 to JDRF per flu shot given when a customer presents this JDRF barcode/voucher flyer or identifies themself as a JDRF supporter at any Walgreens location. Walgreens is committing a minimum of $25,000 to this program with a maximum of $100,000.
Walgreens pharmacists are specially trained experts at administering a variety of immunizations, including flu shots – a key preventive step especially important for people living with diabetes. No matter how well you manage your condition, diabetes can increase your risk for a severe case of the flu and serious complications. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a flu shot for everyone with diabetes age 6 months or older.
Since 1992, Walgreens has raised $20 million for JDRF! Help us to raise even more money for T1D research by getting your flu shot at Walgreens. Be sure to show them this JDRF barcode/voucher flyer! You’ll be reducing your risk from the flu and potential complications, while funding research to help make T1D a thing of the past. That’s a real win-win!
Thanks also to Walgreens for their support of JDRF through their pin-pad campaign! Throughout the month of July, Walgreens customers were able to donate $1, $2, $5, or $10 to JDRF via the pin-pad at checkout at more than 8,000 stores across the United States and Puerto Rico. This year, pin-pad donations raised a record $4.6 million, making it the most successful corporate campaign effort!
