FAMILY TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Team Cake-Cake
Piper was diagnosed October 2011 at 16 months old. She is now 4 years old and loves to sing and dance. The team name, Team Cake-Cake, came about because cupcakes are one of Piper’s favorite things and her family likes to raise awareness that yes, she can eat that! Team Cake-Cake did most of their fundraising through Facebook, t-shirt sales, and a coffee and donut stand. By implementing those fundraising tactics, they raised $1, 420! Way to go Team Cake-Cake!! The 2014 OKC Walk to Cure Diabetes is their third walk.
