41st Annual Beat the Bridge 2023!

in

We are excited for the 41st Annual Beat the Bridge on Sunday, May 21st! Join JDRF and thousands of T1D champions and their supporters at Husky Stadium for an excitement-filled day to raise money for critical diabetes research!

In September 2012, Maggie was diagnosed with T1D at 9 years old. For Maggie’s parents, Joel and Sandy, Beat the Bridge marks a season of the year when their daughter is showered with support by friends and family who generously give their time and dollars to help create a world without T1D. Today, Maggie is a sophomore at Colorado College studying History/Political Science, showing the world that T1D won’t stop her.

We’ve seen firsthand–and have benefited tremendously–from the last decade of incredible advances in managing T1D. Maggie’s early days with diabetes were a blur of finger sticks around the clock to check blood sugar and many insulin shots. Today, she wears a constant glucose monitor that displays her blood sugar on her iPhone and an insulin pump that automatically adjusts some of her insulin doses. The technology is not a cure, but it has greatly improved life with T1D. These advances, and many more in the pipeline, owe much to research supported by JDRF.”

This year, Maggie’s family is helping turn type one into type none by offering a match of up to $25,000! Starting Wednesday, March 29th at 1:00 PM, through Friday, March 31st, every dollar raised for the 41st Annual Beat the Bridge will be matched.

Beat the Bridge participants can choose to participate in an 8K race, a 3-mile walk, or a 1 Mile fun run. Event day includes a kid’s zone, vendors, and even a diaper derby!
