November is National Diabetes Awareness Month

in

Next month marks the annual National Diabetes Awareness Month, and with it, our first ever type #OneDay campaign.

What is the Type #OneDay campaign?

This inaugural campaign is an opportunity to highlight all of those in our Wisconsin community who are affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). During National Diabetes Awareness Month (NDAM) in November, the JDRF Wisconsin Chapter will highlight some of our T1D champions throughout the month on our social media channels. These individuals will spearhead fundraising for JDRF during the most crucial month of the year and every dollar raised will go to our mission to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.

We’ll hear from several of you who have a #OneDay story that describes your vision of a world without T1D; for example: #OneDay I won’t have to worry that my son Blake isn’t going to wake up.

What is NDAM?

During the month of November, people all over the country team up to spread awareness about diabetes for National Diabetes Awareness Month (NDAM). The need for awareness and education on type 1 diabetes (T1D) is more important than ever. Who better than those of you in our T1D community to make sure this disease is properly recognized?

Bringing attention to diabetes throughout the month not only helps to bring more understanding to a very misunderstood disease, but it can also help to bring in more funding for essential research and support for important legislative issues facing the T1D community.
