A Message From Our New Executive Director

Happy New Year!

I am so proud to be writing today to officially introduce myself as the new Executive Director of the JDRF Alabama Chapter. As I learn more and more about JDRF, I’m excited about where we are going as a chapter and overall organization. This chapter has seen great success and growth over the years and the involvement, hard work and dedication of our volunteers has been THE critical factor to this success. As a volunteer of JDRF you should take pride in the achievement of the organization and I hope when you reflect on your past involvement you say to yourself that you want to remain involved and/or become re-engaged with the chapter.

Now a little bit about me… I’m a mother of two children ages 19 and 13, married to my husband of 26 years and I’m originally from Anniston, Alabama. I’ve spent more than 17 years in the nonprofit industry most recently as CEO of Kid One Transport and before that, as Chapter President the National MS Society’s Alabama Chapter. Six years ago I stepped away from nonprofit world to spend more time with my family while also working as a business consultant. However, I’m very excited to be back in a mission focused leadership role and couldn’t imagine a greater mission to work for than JDRF’s.

Thank you for your continued support of JDRF and I look forward to meeting all of our wonderful volunteers face to face!

Warmest Regards,

Tracy Bennett Smith
