2) We now have more accurate statistics for the T1D population in the United States.  According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) 2020 National Diabetes Statistics Report, there are 1.6 million Americans with T1D.  There has been a 30% increase in T1D diagnoses in the United States in just two years.  Diagnoses in young persons is growing most sharply among minority groups.
