Know Before You Go: One Walk Utah

in ,

The JDRF One Walk Utah is quickly approaching and we are so excited to be back at the Shops at South Town once again on May 20! This JDRF-favorite event will include all the things you love about Walk, including activities (hello, rock climbing wall!), snacks galore (with the carb counts included, of course), and the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of other T1D families and supporters.Ā

Whether you are new to JDRF or have been with us for many years, here are some ā€˜know before you goā€™ tips to make this Walk Day the best day ever!Ā

  1. Parking! Parking is available throughout the Shops at South Town for free. If youā€™re a V1P, make sure to take advantage of your super close parking right next to the event site! View the parking map here!
  2. The Route is approximately 1.5 miles long and wheelchair / stroller accessible. Click here for the map.
  3. NEW THIS YEAR! Join us for the T1D Parade! We want to highlight all our T1D superheroes at the event with a brand new T1D Parade, no matter your age! If you live with T1D, make sure to meet at the stage at 8:45am sharp so that you can be part of this new and special event. Parents are welcome to join little ones who cannot walk on their own.
  4. Check out the exclusive V1P tent! Individuals who raise $1,000+ are welcome and will enjoy unique snacks, a swag bag, a V1P exclusive face painter, and fun products from our friends at Lakanto and Owala!
    1. Not quite a V1P yet but want to be? Contact Dana at dslack@jdrf.org to discuss ideas and strategies to get you a spot on the coveted V1P list!
  5. We want to celebrate our T1D Superheroes with this yearā€™s T1D Identifier! If you live with T1D, make sure to stop by the JDRF Information tent to get your exclusive T1D identifier!
  6. T-Shirts will be mailed to every Walker who raises $100, so you can wear it on Walk Day.
  7. Furry friends! Your well-behaved and leashed furry friends are welcome at the event!

We are so excited to celebrate alongside you on Saturday, May 20!Ā Ā
